TCAP partners with MBK and the public sector to plant Mangrove and Cork trees to restore Chao Phraya ecosystem and promote a sustainable society

Thanachart Capital Public Company Limited (TCAP), led by Mr. Sorasak Chayaraks, First Vice President of Corporate Strategy and Investment, along with the executive team and employees of MBK Public Company Limited and its subsidiaries, participated in mangrove and cork tree (Lamphu) planting activities. The initiative aimed to restore the ecosystem, prevent coastal erosion from wind and storm surges, and create natural balance at Riverdale Marina, a comprehensive hub for marine services and activities in the Chao Phraya River basin. This activity was organized under the "MBK Green Community" project to reaffirm the commitment to conducting business alongside environmental stewardship, creating a better environment for a sustainable society. The event was held in collaboration with the public sector, with Mr. Ekkawit Meepian, Governor of Pathum Thani Province, presiding over the ceremony. The planting of mangrove and cork trees covered over 70 meters along the bank of the Chao Phraya River, serving as a natural barrier to restore the riverside ecosystem. The unique root systems of both tree species grip the soil firmly, reducing the impact of erosion from wind and waves. In addition, the area serves as a vital nursery for young aquatic life, such as shrimp, shellfish, crabs, and fish, thereby increasing biodiversity. These trees also help absorb toxins and filter debris and contaminants, ensuring cleaner water flows into the river. This initiative underscores the robust partnership between public and private sectors in Pathum Thani Province, working together to create a better environment and a sustainable society for future generations.
